Tubular woman's sarong; this item consists of two MATCHED, IDENTICAL textiles; fine, handspun cotton with some commercial thread and fringe; natural yellow dye painted on rampant lion; it is rare to obtain a matched pair of women’s sarongs from Sumba; these appear to be ceremonial due to decorative touches, fringe and that this original pair is still intact
